A Brisbane Micro Wedding – Intimate, Relaxed & Full of Heart

Sitting beautifully between a classic full wedding and a small elopement, micro weddings typically include between 8–30 guests, offering the best of both worlds, which is why micro weddings are one of the most loved ways to get married.

They’re a little more structured than an elopement, with guests usually seated for the ceremony, and there’s often a touch more styling, giving all the wedding ‘feels’ and excitement. With micro weddings retaining the relaxed, meaningful, and happiness-filled vibe that couples love about eloping.

A micro wedding could be the perfect choice for you if your wedding vision is:

“No pressure. More intention. And a day that truly feels like you.”

A Lush Summer Micro Wedding in Brisbane

This recent Brisbane micro wedding was the perfect example of how enjoyable these intimate celebrations can be.

This ceremony took place on a January summer’s day, beneath softly overcast skies, the jetty overlooking a tranquil lagoon that was absolutely brimming with lush greenery and life.

At this time of year, the gardens feel vibrant and alive. If you’re lucky, you might even spot turtles gliding through the water below.

Thoughtful Styling with Elopement-Level Ease

The couple chose to include one of With Love’s beautiful elopement décor packages, which elevated the ceremony setting ready to frame the ‘I Do’s’.

Dried florals in warm burnt orange tones styled with natural palm leaves on elegant gold plinths, complemented by white Americana chairs to seat all eight guests comfortably, creating a ceremony setting that felt considered, stylish, and intimate without being overdone.

It was relaxed, warm, and perfectly in tune with the natural surroundings.

Walking In Together – A Shared Beginning

With just eight close friends as guests in attendance, the atmosphere was calm, personal, fun and full of love.

The ceremony began with excitement, when the couple arrived together arm in arm and walked down the aisle together — something we often see with elopements and micro weddings, and something we absolutely love.

It’s such a powerful way to begin the ceremony: calm, united, and sharing the moment together side by side. Their arrival was met with cheers and applause from their guests before they settled into their simple, happy, fun and relaxed ceremony led by With Love Elopements Celebrant Jamie.

With the small guest list of a micro wedding there’s no formality for formality’s sake, just heartfelt words, laughter, personalised vows and a genuine connection.

5 STAR micro wedding experience

As their Celebrant I couldn’t be happier to receive this 5-star review from the happy newlyweds:

An absolute breeze from start to finish! Jamie was extremely proactive and friendly from the get go.

He was professional yet personable throughout and you can tell he has a great love for his job.

Jamie made our intimate, elopement ceremony dreams come true at Mt Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens. The decorations were beautiful and he made the paperwork simple.

Support for vow writing as well as photographer and wedding ring recommendations were greatly appreciated.

Communication was clear throughout, our last-minute alterations were delivered smoothly and we couldn’t be happier!” E+R

Celebrating Beyond the Ceremony

After the ceremony, the newlyweds took a leisurely stroll with their Photographer through the botanic gardens, which are always bursting with life and colour, but even more so in the summer months.

They explored towering sunflowers, shared playful moments among the greenery lined pathways, and twirled their first dance beneath a dreamy canopy of bamboo.

It was unhurried, fun, and full of laughter and personality — exactly what a micro wedding allows space for.

From there, the celebrations continued with a relaxed lunch at The Terrace in South Bank, overlooking Brisbane City, before evolving naturally into a spontaneous pub crawl around the city. A little adventure, a little tradition, and a lot of fun.
