Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens
Located just 7km drive from Brisbane’s CBD is the stunning subtropical Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. Home to exotic and Australian rain forest trees, plants, gardens and a lagoon.
For those opting for a small and intimate elopement with 2-10 guests, we have explored the gorgeous botanical gardens in depth and have shortlisted some seriously gorgeous spots that are perfect for relaxed elopements.

There are also designated wedding lawns at Mt Coot-tha that can be hired (a hire fee is payable to the council) for weddings with more guest.
New Farm Park
The iconic New Farm Park is located just over 3km from Brisbane City and has a variety of areas perfect for small elopement wedding ceremonies. The rose gardens typically bloom from Spring right the way through to May. There are also jacaranda trees that usually flower between late September through to late October, so elopement spots and photo opportunities in New Farm Park are abundant.

It’s worth noting that being such a scenic area, New Farm Park can get pretty busy with people during weekends, so we strongly suggest if choosing this location, to consider having a weekday elopement.

Kangaroo Point
The inner-city suburb of Kangaroo Point has some stunning hidden gem locations perfect for elopements. With stunning views over the Brisbane River to the vibrant City, there’s elopement spots at the top of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, or for the ultimate romantic elopement location, you can wed on the banks of on the Brisbane River on Lower River Terrace. The designated wedding lawns at Lower River Terrace can be booked, with a fee payable to the council).
